We had a lovely bus outing to Portulla woods for our last day of term. Thank you to Mrs Wheeler for kindly allowing us to visit her lovely woods over so many years. Miss Corkin (the previous principal) met us there and showed us around. We were very good at finding all the leaves and nuts she showed us. She said we were very good and she really enjoyed her day out with us. We were all very tired and hungry when we got back to school! You can see ALL the lovely photos on the big screen in the hallway and/or in the photo archive under "Bus trips".
We dressed in pink to support breast cancer awareness today. We played with pink toys and ate a pink snack. You can see all the photos in the "Photo archive". This photo was published in the Down Recorder.
We made delicious buns with Mrs McAllister today. We all had snack together to eat them - Yummy! We lined up after lunch to go upstairs to watch "Aunty Mabel" with Mrs Rutledge. We can already line up like grown up P1's! We started getting into the spirit of Halloween today. We have decorated the house corner with some friendly ghosts, etc. We also have a Halloween hallway. We started singing our fun Halloween songs and rhymes and acted them out in rhyme time. We have been exploring this story since Mr Hullabaloo's visit. We can share the story using books, puppets or dressing up. We enjoy trying out the different roles. We have some very good actors in school. We had another little visitor today who could scoot around on the floor. He came with his dad and they were lots of fun. We were very excited for the "surprise" today...a baby sibling came to have her bath in school. She was a little bit worried with so many children watching her but we were very good and quiet and we sang her some songs so that she was happy again. We even have buggies and babies outside! We also enjoy rolling things down the hill. We are enjoying our babies topic. We had lots more baby equipment in the home corner and even had to expand the house to accommodate all the busy parents. Some babies were taken for a walk by mums AND dads and some babies went on a hike in a back pack! We painted baby clothes at the art table. We all love our snack and are starting to help the staff to get the snack tables ready. |
