Today was a very special day... It was our Christmas party! We could dress up in our own special party clothes and we got to listen to special Christmas party music. For our snack we made a big long party table and we all had our snack together, and it wasn't just a normal snack, we still had our fruit but Mrs Rutledge made special reindeer shaped treats for everyone, thank you Mrs Rutledge. We played party games like musical chairs, musical statues and the hokey cokey! It was very exciting to practice our Christmas dance moves before people came to watch us sing Christmas songs! Everyone sat on the carpet facing people from our family that came to watch and listen to the lovely songs, there was even one about Santa getting stuck up the chimney!
Everyone is working like Santa's little elves in the workshop today. There is lots to decorate and make so that we all have nice surprise Christmas presents to take home at the end of the year. There has been a lot of glitter and sparkles to make all our presents look rightly decorated and ready for Christmas. The little elves have been using plastic lids, special tinsel and hand prints to make special crafty presents, hmm what will they be!
This morning when we came into nursery school there was a big green Christmas tree in the house! We got to decorate the tree and make it look really festive with lots of tinsel and baubles and the lights were on it already. This week we are beginning to practice for our nativity play. During rhyme time today we were singing our new Christmas songs, this was very exciting and everyone is looking forward to singing them at the real nativity! There are lots of new Christmas themed fancy dress costumes to play with so that we can be Santa or a reindeer or even a Christmas fairy!
Nursery is feeling very festive today. The cards we began making on Monday are now almost finished and today we began making some tree decorations from clay. Miss Kelly helped us to cut out some Christmas shapes of coloured clay and we were able to decorate them with a glitter coloured of our choice. When these dry they can hang on our tree in nursery that we made by painting egg carton boxes the colour green, just like a tree. Dinner today was very special... It was Christmas dinner! The staff wore hats and some of us had Christmas hats, Collette even had a lovely Christmas apron too. We really enjoyed our turkey and stuffing and Christmas songs during dinner time.
When we got to go outside today and have play time and we had lots of fun using the bikes and toys. We played in the big wooden blocks, they were used as a climbing frame so that we could be really tall. We started to make lovely Christmas cards today, using our hand prints we made angels and reindeer. Some of the cards got glitter on them and others got marker so they all look different because we could make them our own way. These cards will be hung in the classroom making it look really festive for December.
