We made interesting vehicle print pictures today. We rolled cars in paint and then printed a wheel road on our page. We then added printed houses and vehicles. We heard the story of Seal Six (and some of us were sprayed by him! You can see his story in the "Numbertime" photo archive.
Our friends made ginger biscuits for our snack today. We really enjoyed them - hardly a crumb left.. We liked using the screwdrivers to put "dacta" together to make machines. The little police station was on the table today. We really loved making patterns in the messy foam. We had our first picnic snack outside today as it was so lovely and sunny. It was great fun and we all ate SOOO much!!! We made lovely magic blob folding paintings using the colours we have been learning about. You can see them on the colourful display in the playroom. We are having great fun playing in our own police station. We can dress up in uniform and arrest children to put them in the holding cell. We write notes in our police notebooks and take fingerprints. We have a small world police station too with mini radios, handcuffs and keys. The police can travel around Happy Town in their cars or on their motorbikes. We have all done a painting of what we want to be when we grow up ~ you can see them on display in the hallway.
After half term we had a visit from the Police officers with their special Police bicycles. Policeman Pete told us what the police do to keep us safe. Policeman Phil showed us what his police bike can do (it has flashing lights and a siren too!)
We finished our heart gift parcels for Valentine's Day. We all wore our lucky red clothes for our Chinese New Year party. We were very excited to meet Kim who had returned from China. She was wearing her special red clothes and red ribbons in her hair too. We had a special snack with prawn crackers (we ate them with our chopsticks) and other yummy snacks. The table was decorated with a red cloth and lucky mandarin oranges. After lunch we had a parade with chinese music and dragon dancing, ribbon waving and cheering We took home our fortune cookies and lucky red envelopes with "money" in them.
We are very busy learning how to eat with chopsticks to be ready to enjoy our chinese new year party food on Thursday. We had special "magic" pancakes for our snack today and we met our new frien Kim. We were really excited to finally meet her and glad she got back from China in time for our party.
We made a little something for those we love today. The chinese restaurant was still very busy and we enjoyed exploring the magnets and magnetic wands. We are so pleased to have met Kim and some did lovely paintings of her in her special red clothes for Chinese New Year. We also drew and painted friendly dragons.
We enjoyed cooking, eating and serving in "The Happy Dragon" chinese restaurant at school today. We also started to practise using chopsticks to eat fruit and cereal. We drew chinese glitter pictures and learnt some new songs. We are looking forward to Kim arriving from China soon.
We had 2 students in school today. We drew our best pictures of ourselves with Miss Reid and Miss Carvell. We did very grown up "P1" dancing today using our lummi sticks. We also had an exciting fairy/elf dance in "The Hall of the Mountain King" before the king clapped his hands loudly
