We made Christmas cards using some of our Autumn leaves. Rudolf with oak antlers! Angels with golden wings, and Christmas trees with shiny decorations. They were great fun to make... wait and see.
We used Mrs McAllisters special "TV" today and many children wanted to be on TV saying their favourite Nursery rhyme. We had a large "live studio audience" too. It was great
We did beautiful art work today. We used pressed Autumn leaves to make either a reindeer, an angel or a christmas tree ... wait and see! We also had exciting fun outside exploring the slippy frost on our soft play areas. It was cold and sunny and we had a lovely time outside. After lunch we saw Aunty Mabel and Pippin again as they found out about woolly jumpers to keep us
We really loved making our own sandwiches for snack today with a choice of honey, jam, bovril and marmite (sweet and salty!) It was fun for us to practise spreading the butter and topping. We were acting out the story of the 3 bears on our own in the home corner and sorting out the little coloured bears in the dry sand. Outside we had fun on the tractors, bikes, scooters and we tried out the "tyres on wheels" and "skateboards" for the first time.
We made more fruit and vegetable pictures with stampers and ink pads. We acted out the 3 bears for our story time again (and Mrs. McAllister filmed it again too!) At rhyme time after lunch we sang songs, said rhymes and played games all about Teddy bears.
We had a happy Friday playing and looking forward to fish 'n chips and Diwali. After lunch we lit our Diwali lamps and gave lots of happy cheers. We found out what some people do to get ready for Diwali. We listened to real Indian music and did some swaying and gentle dancing using our flowing arms.
We were all keen to play a part in the story of the 3 bears in the play house today. We also painted lovely pictures of fruit by looking carefully at the real fruits. We watched a DVD about daffodil bulbs with Aunty Mabel and Pippin.
Some of us planted daffodil bulbs in our garden ~ we will plant more later in the week.
Anna-Rae, Charlie, Olivia and Abbie. G made sweet, sticky buns for our snack. We will eat them tomorrow for our "Happy Diwali". Yum-yum.
Today we made Diwali lamps using clay. On Friday, when the clay has dried and hardened, we will light the "lamps" for our festival. We also enjoyed building walls with the big bricks.
