We are all so good at getting involved in lovely play in the morning. We had our first puppet show for story today and Mrs Rutledge said we were all sooooo good and listened soooo well. We loved our fish and chips lunch and then we talked about being an Eco school. After lunch we took off our shoes and socks for dancing, we moved like the swans in Swan lake! Mrs Johnston is a teacher who comes in to help us when our staff are busy. She is helping us with lunch on Fridays in October. (Mrs McAllister does not work in school on Fridays.) She was in today for Mrs Rutledge who was on a first aid course. We are all very busy and happy and learning all the new routines of nursery school. Today we met our first number from Ten Town called ... King One. You can see what we are learning about on the office door. After lunch we went back to the story mat to think about our first "Jolly Phonics" sound. It is Sammy the snake. We met the Sammy puppet and all our friends whose name begin with "S" could choose something from the ssssss box! We had our first Music time circle time after lunch today. We explored the bells and did other musical activities. Mini the musical monkey came to visit us at school today with Elaine. They will visit once a month. We sang songs about Autumn and Halloween. We made music and moved around pretending to be spiders and friendly ghosts. We enjoyed the actions to the monster stomp. Please look at the photo archive for the slideshow of photographs.
We had our first Rhyme Time after lunch today. We all sat in a ring in the playroom and passed the bag around the ring. When it stops we can take a turn to choose a toy from the bag to tell us what to sing. All the rhymes today were about babies. We even had a game called "Wake the baby".
What a busy day we had. Mr Hullabaloo came to do a show about Autumn and Harvest. We dressed up and helped him tell the stories. The little red hen, The enormous pumpkin and The three bears. We went for a run outside then got ready for our first school dinner - chicken curry...YUM! (The photos of Mr Hullabaloo are in the archive.) |
