We had a fun story outside today under the shade. We will take every opportunity to take our learning outside this term.
We had the first of many picnic snacks today. We might even have some lunch picnics if the weather is REALLY good. We are playing with the small world farm and other farm animal games and puzzles. We are also enjoying the castle with knights and
Welcome back! We hoped to start the term with Mini and Elaine but they were not able to come - we will see them again next week. We made the most of the beautiful weather and spent a lot of time outside
We had a fun party day today. We sang with a microphone on the stage and we danced on the big open playroom floor. We had a picnic snack and then went upstairs to watch our Easter DVD. While we were there the Easter bunny came!!! It was so exciting - there were lots of eggs hidden outside and we found them all 0ne-at-a-time. The students kindly put them in our Easter baskets. We also had a visit from Emma (from ASDA) who brought us each a big easter egg from their shop - thank you Emma and thank you ASDA. HAPPY EASTER everybody and have a good holiday.....
We had another fun day today. We all decorated a boiled egg and had a quick snack. then we went egg rolling at the Mound of Down. Some families (already on holiday!) were able to join us which was great. Our eggs were VERY strong and we were able to have LOTS of rolls. We finally turned the last few eggs into space rockets and tried to fire them off to the moon - some eggs even survived their high flight and were taken home victorious!
We had a picnic lunch outside and then went upstairs to get ready for our show. We did 2 "Enormous turnip" shows and several "Bunny Foo-foo" shows. We all had a turn to act and the audience gave us lots of claps. We then had the exciting draw for our Easter Hamper raffle and were pleased that our school friends old and new all won great prizes. Thanks to all the parents for donations to the hampers and for the prizes. We raised £255 - WELL DONE! We made our Easter nest buns today and finished decorating our Easter baskets. We had a lovely long play time outside and had to be sure to water all our plants and seedlings in this lovely warm weather.
What a lot to do.... we are enjoying playing with all the castle toys and princess puzzles. We also have to make our very clever Easter cards which we are colouring, cutting and sticking all by ourselves! Mrs Rutledge has started work on our beautiful end-of-year books so we will all have a turn to work with her on that. We have lots to do outside still so we are very busy all day long because we are getting so grown up and know all our jobs now.
We had a LOVELY day for our outing. We enjoyed the bus trip and when we got there we went looking for our friend Mark. He showed us his collection of old weapons. Poor Miss Murray pretended to be attacked and tried on the armour. We gave Mark some very clever answers to his questions. We had to climb the big hill up to the castle very quietly so the knights would not know we were coming. When we got to the castle walls we got our pretend weapons and ran in shouting and roaring "ATTACK!" It was very exciting and a bit scary. We thought the knights might all be hiding in the keep so Mark took us in to have a look. We hope we will go back one day with our families so we can climb to the top! There are lots of photos on the big screen at school and a few photos here in the Photo archive under bus outings.
We started our new topics today so we had a castle to play with! We took turns with the knights and their weapons. We started "rehearsals" for our Spring show next week. We are all so keen and said/sang our parts very enthusiastically right from the start. We are very excited about our trip to Dundrum castle tomorrow......
We have been very busy checking on all our seeds and seedlings in time for the judge's visit tomorrow.....we picked some herbs to make herb scones for our snack tomorrow.
