We were ALL dressed up today. It was SUCH fun! We put orange icing on our buns (and a spider decoration!) We made pumpkin faces on little satsuma baby "pumpkins". We sang our Halloween songs again. We had a party snack all together and we ate witches fingers (breadsticks). goblins ears (kiwi), witches eyeballs (grapes). We had flying sorcerers and witches potions for a treat (sherbert). We ate our buns and drank our potions (milk and water) We played outside and had soup and burgers for lunch. After lunch we sang and acted our witches songs and the ghost song. HAPPY HALLOWEEN and have a lovely holiday. (ALL the photos will be on the big screen on Monday) We made buns with Mrs McAllister and we carved 2 pumpkins with Mrs Rutledge. We learnt our halloween songs with Mrs Burns and we had a go at acting them out in Rhyme Time after lunch. We will get another go tomorrow.. We are all so excited to be dressing up for school tomorrow.
We were so disappointed not to be able to go on our Autumn bus outing to Portulla woods today. It was very wet and windy. It did brighten up and we were able to play outside later. We all had a turn in our WONDERFUL new sandhouse.
We had Mini in again for Halloween this time. We sang songs, did dances and played games. Afterwards we had a quick "circle snack". We had to play in the side garden today because the workmen came to build our new sandhouse. It was very exciting to watch the house growing while we had our lunch. We can't wait to play in it. After lunch we heard about Tommy Two and sang 2 little dicky birds.
The construction site was very busy again today. Some builders were doing careful measurements so we set up an architects table where they could draw their building plans. We are getting used to our new afternoon routines so we went outside again today and then we also had music time.
Great news! The rhyme really works. We went outside and got caught in a shower. We all ran under the cover and started chanting "Rain, rain go away..." The rain got less.... So we chanted more loudly...less again.... we gave one more loud chant and......THE SUN CAME OUT! Hooray!
We built with bricks on the floor and used our builders' tools. In the water we bathed the baby dolls. We used puppets and props to tell the story of Goldilocks and the three bears.
We all came to school dressed in pink to support the breast cancer awareness charity day. We raised a whopping £60! Well done everyone. We played with pink toys and ate pink things for snack. We did pink paintings and drawings and had pink covers on the tables. WHAT FUN! (See more photos in a pink slideshow in the photo archive.)
We also had our first Friday puppet show - it was "Goldilocks" Mrs Rutledge brought her daughter and gorgeous grandson into school. They came to show us what babies are like and how to look after them. Baby boy had a bath... in the pink bath... he didn't mind - he likes pink. His mummy put bubbles in his bath and we all helped to wash him. He played with his yellow duck and splashed water EVERYWHERE! Time to get dried and dressed (he had a little walk about in his nappy! Then he wanted to go outside to see what big girls and boys do in nursery school. Thank you mummy and baby for coming in for our special baby topic.
What a rainy day! We were playing cars with the steering wheels today. We could build buses and trains too. We used the timer to take turns to be the driver. We got outside before the rain came but after lunch we stayed inside for music time. We were very good at listening to Mrs Burns. We had to put our sticks back on the floor when we saw the red traffic light. We had a rest at the end listening to quiet music.
