We did our first collection of the year today. We are hoping to win the competition for collecting the most clobber per child of any nursery school - PLEASE HELP! We were delighted with the response this time and had 50 bags collected today that means: 325 kilograms of clobber £178.75 for the school £16.25 for the NI Cancer Fund for Children Well done and thank you! Please start collecting again now for the next pick up in February. We started planting our daffodil bulbs today for our Mini Pots of Care charity day we will be having in February.
October is international walk to school month. What can you do?
We enjoyed a super "green day" for our FSC Friday. Now we must all look out for the FSC logo because of our pledge: "ON THIS DAY I PLEDGE TO PICK FOREST PRODUCTS WITH THE FSC TICK". We played with the woodland animals in amongst all our lovely new wooden off cuts. We looked at lots of leaves and made colourful prints of them. We were checking on our wormery. Some worms had escaped so we had to pick them up and put them back into the top. Not everyone wanted to hold a wiggly worm! We do not like to have any litter around our school. When Mrs Burns found some plastic under the leaves we had to get the litter pickers for this Eco-EMERGENCY! We have also been using the compost we made with last year's leaves. We have moved it into our new planter boxes. What a lot of work. |
