This week is the "European Week for Waste Reduction" and we celebrated it by having a "Swop it" day for books. Some children brought in a used book from home and they swopped it for a "new" book to take home. We are reusing and recycling and we are certainly not wasting our lovely books.
We met "Evil Sir Standby" today and looked at his evil red eye on our big television in the hallway. We talked about how we need to try to switch off our TV's to save electricity. We sang our Eco Code and thought about "Switch off the lights" - the children were asked to remind staff to turn out the lights when nobody is in the room. We did our first collection of the year today. We are hoping to win the competition for collecting the most clobber per child of any nursery school - PLEASE HELP! We were delighted with the response this time and had 50 bags collected today that means: 325 kilograms of clobber £178.75 for the school £16.25 for the NI Cancer Fund for Children Well done and thank you! Please start collecting again now for the next pick up in February. |
