We were very pleased to accept the gift of nature boards and a sturdy bird table from the company building the new police station in Downpatrick.
We cooked with bramley apples. We made apple sauce and apple crisps. We all tasted the apple sauce after lunch, some children asked for more and soon it was all gone - YUM! Someone brought in cress seeds for the green table so we planted them today. We used cotton wool for the soil, we had to water it well, then we all helped to sprinkle on the seeds. We will put them on an inside shelf in the sunshine to grow. We all want to have a taste. We celebrated FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) Friday today by having a "green" day. We wore green clothes and played with green toys. We ate a green snack and had green dough and water. We had a special story sack story all about Harry's hazel nut. We will try really hard to look after all the trees and we will try to plant more of them and NOT cut them down. We took home information for our families and we each got a pencil and an arm band to remember the day.
