We have been a bit slow at getting started on our website this year....APOLOGIES......
We will have a summary of events with themed photos for each month for September and October. We hope to keep more up-to-date with our blog from November..... Mini brought some of his creepy crawly friends today and Elaine was very impressed by how much we all knew about mini beasts. We answered ALL her questions and had lots of ideas for her too.
We had our second trip to Castle Ward and Miss Corkin tookus to look for coloured flowers and butterflies and birds. We did lots of good looking and listening and running and hiding. It was such a fun day and we were all so busy that we were starving by picnic time. It was cold and windy so we had our picnic in the barn this time and we ate up every crumb (AND crust!!) 2 of the children even fell asleep in the bus on the way back to school after all the fresh air and exercise!
We had another lovely trip to Portulla woods. This time Mrs. Wheeler kindly allowed us to pick lots of her bluebells. We also went on some adventures off the path and did some climbing on fallen trees. It was all very exciting. We visited the badger sett again but still didn't see a badger. We enjoyed hiding away from our teachers in the woods and running along the grassy paths.
We have been enjoying all the sunny weather and we play outside ALL day. We even have our picnic snack outside. We are all so busy as there are so many new things to try out like the new mud kitchen (kindly donated by Maeve Linehan's family - THANK YOU!) We also have new ways of experimenting with transporting water down gutters and pipes. We have also had building sites and artists murals. We also enjoy playing in the side garden.
We are all very good at joining in with the fun Mini has at school with us now.
We went on our first trip to Castle Ward. We met all the different farm animals and heard a story about a farm dog. We played on the tractors at the barn and we played farm games upstairs in the barn. After all that we had a picnic out on the grass and played some running games. We all had a lovely day.
This is going to be SUCH a busy term that we will just have a weekly blog about the trip we have been on or the visitor we have had.......
We had a very busy short day. We went to see a DVD all about children celebrating Easter and while we were upstairs the Easter Bunny visited!!! We all found lots of sweets and eggs in the garden which we will all share. After that excitement we had a visit from Orin's Dad Henk. He is a Marine Biologist and came to tell us about his job. We tried on his fins that help him swim fast under water. We tried to breathe out of the oxygen tanks he uses under water. Then Henk showed us all the creatures he had found in the lough for us today. We were all very interested. We also tasted some delicious spaghetti seaweed!!! Thank you Henk!
