We raised £86.37 for "Children in need" today. We wore spots, brought our teddies to school for a teddy bears' picnic and covered Pudsey and Blush with pennies. We made Blush and Pudsey spotty pictures and spotty biscuits. We ate bear crisps and spotty grapes with our biscuits for snack. It was a really fun day. (See the photos in "Special events)
Conor.S, Lucy, Amelia, and Abbie.Mc all helped to make delicious vegetable soup. They had to wash the vegetables first then do lots of chopping ~ "Chop, chop, choppity chop; chop of the bottom and chop off the top; what we have left we'll put in the pot, chop, chop, choppity chop." We loved Calvin's yummy birthday cake.
We loved playing with the little cars and the garage. We retold the story of "Harry's hazelnut" by ourselves. It was very busy at the Greengrocer's shop. We cut and stuck leaves to make a big hedgehog.
We opened the greengrocer shop in school today and had many eager shoppers and shop assistants. We made Autumn leaves with our finger prints ~ "Orange, yellow, green and brown; all the leaves are falling down." We went out for a quick run about when it was not raining. Mrs Burns and Miss Reid told (and acted out) the story of Harry and the hazelnut. After lunch we started learning about Ten Town, we met King One. We had fun moving and dancing after lunch. We listened really well to know what to do.
Today we made lovely leaf prints with our fingers on autumn tree shapes. There were lovely bright autumn colours to choose. We used the push and pull toys outside for the first time. Everyone wanted to have a turn on the boat but also enjoyed the wagons and trolleys. We played outside again after lunch.
We had a very busy day today. Many of us had our eyes tested by Helen. Some of us went to play games or have circle times with Aileen. We also painted autumn leaves to make leaf prints. We saw real hedgehogs on a DVD with Aunty Mabel and Pippin
We made fruit salad for our snack today. It was delicious. Some helpers took all our peels to the compost bin. We used 8 different fruits ~ apples, bananas, pears, kiwis, grapes, strawberries, pineapple and oranges
We loved having the fire station out on the table today. We looked at the basket full of leaves, conkers, moss and twigs that we collected at the woods. We made firework pictures by rolling marbles covered in paint in tins. Did you see them in the hallway?
