We all dressed in green for our school Saint Patrick's day. After lunch Miss Corkin came to teach us Irish dancing. We all had such fun. We liked it when the boys sat to watch the girls and the girls sat to watch the boys. We had to bow and curtsey after our dances. At the end of the day we had a parade. We had ribbon dancers, jugglers, musicians and some dressed up monkeys and frogs. Kathleen(t came to watch our parade. She came from Dublin in her caravan with the funfair. She wore her green Irish dancing dress.
Mrs Burns was out on a course so Mrs Johnston came to school again. We showed her the hen and rooster and the frogspawn. She told us a story about how the frogs eggs will hatch into tadpoles and they will grow into frogs. After lunch we watched a DVD with Aunty Mabel and all sorts of eggs hatching.
We painted our clay surprises for Mummy today. We had a lovely cake from Lee for his birthday. After lunch we had 3 visitors! Georgia's granny, Anne brought a hen and rooster to school. Anne gave us 5 eggs to keep in her special incubator at school. We hope that in 21 days time we might see some little chicks hatch out in time for easter
We had a real fire drill today with the proper alarm. We were all very sensible and we remembered that in a real fire we must: GET OUT, STAY OUT and CALL 999. We were all safe as it was just a practise. We did excellent listening and moving with our bean bag dances after lunch.
We made a surprise for our mummies today out of clay. Miss Flannigan helped us. We heard about Sir Seven after lunch. He is a knight. He has 7 ponies, one for every day of the week. He taught us his song about the days of the week. We are going to play with horses and ponies in our small world play tomorrow.
We have enjoyed visiting Rainbow Street on the computer to meet all the different people who help us. After lunch today we went with our lunch table groups to recycle a few things in different places. We found where to put our paper, milk bottles and used ink cartridges.
We had a lovely game with Mrs McAllister today sailing to treasure island. We chose different roles as sailors, mermaids, fish etc. Some of us drew treasure maps and we all shared good ideas to add to our play, "LAND AHOY!" After lunch we watched a DVD about firefighters.
We walked to the Town Library today. We heard lots of lovely stories and sang some rhymes. Some children took their applications to join the library and received their new library cards.
We walked to Down Arts Centre today to see a show called "Mule's ears and other Celtic tales" to start getting us ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
Today is World Book Day, we each got a bag of books to take home. We had another new student today. Miss MacLaughlin will help us play new games.
