We had a happy, busy day today. We have all had a few turns on the computer this week. There was more clever building with the interlocking cubes today making an extra long "road" through the playroom. We all enjoyed our ginger biscuits - yummy. We heard the story of "Ten in the bed" with real toys acting out the story. After lunch we had dancing with more night time action songs and dances.
Mrs Johnston was our teacher today. We baked ginger biscuits with Mrs McAllister, we will have them for snack tomorrow. We played outside again after lunch. We had the horses and ponies out on the floor with the stables and the jumps. There were also some very clever puzzlers completing big floor puzzles today. We had a double birthday snack for Sophie. H and Chloe today with yummy rice crispie buns. After lunch we watched more of Charley bear's winter stories and then played again. We invited the grown ups to join us at play for a few minutes at home time - we hope to do this on most Tuesdays and Thursdays in future.
We enjoyed playing with the train track today. We are all getting really good at sharing and taking turns. We also started to use the touchscreen computer today. We could choose a game to play out of Tizzy's Toy box. We had to do careful listening and watching. We played for 5 minutes and then called the next friend to have a turn. We had rhyme time after lunch with lots of songs and rhymes about getting ready for bed. It was very funny seeing Nathaniel sitting in the baby bath and throwing out the ducks one-by-one for that funny rhyme. We were playing with the finger build today and tried to make the tallest tower. One was even taller than Mrs Burns but it could break very easily. Then we tried to build a really long one. It stretched right across the playroom. We lay down beside it to see if we could make a longer shape of children! We sang our Eco songs after lunch - next week we will get eco super hero stickers if we can do really good singing! We did wake up and sleeping dances after lunch. We did really good listening to get all the actions just right. We are getting very quick at taking our shoes off for dancing and putting them on again.
Someone had a clever idea today. They made really tall towers with the small pegs. The towers got very long and bendy and it was really tricky to add any more on. Soon we all wanted to have a go... After lunch we were delighted to go outside again for another energetic play time. It was good fun to make swords out of finger build today. Many of us were able to make our own swords with no help but Mrs McAllister was a bit worried about so many swords about so she set up a sword painting challenge that was a bit tricky and a lot of fun. After lunch we had music and we had to listen VERY carefully to hear if the rhythm sticks were "tapping" or "scraping". Sarah and Sam and their friends made buns for our snack today. We sang for them for their birthdays in the holidays. We all loved the Charley Bear winter stories on the library DVD. We were so good that Mrs Rutledge let us see 2 stories today. We are enjoying all the winter library books also. We are all so pleased to be back! A big thank you to all the parents for the kind and generous cards and gifts at Christmas. We were painting pictures of the gifts Santa broufght for us. You can see them in the hallway. We are learning about winter and were playing with polar bears and "icebergs" in the water. |
